The Guild has a large quantity of wooden Quilt Racks for displaying quilts. These are available for rental to other guilds, organizations and individuals, who are known associates of current Guild members. The rental period is usually for 7 days. The fee is $2.00 per upright and $2.00 per cross bar. All feet and hardware are included with each rental. There is a $100 damage deposit for all rentals. This is usually waived for a Guild member who only rents one or two racks for a short period. The deposit check is held by the Rack Rental Coordinator, (not cashed or deposited) until the racks are returned. It is then shredded or returned to the renter, which ever the renter would prefer.
The racks are stored in the basement of the Anacortes Westminster Presbyterian church. The renters are required to bring enough help to carry the racks from the basement storage area to the parking lot. The Rack Coordinator is not expected to help load the racks. The issue is the steep stairs up from the basement. This is clearly stated in the rental agreement.
The prospective renters usually contact the coordinator to reserve the rental dates. As soon as the deposit is received; the dates are confirmed and rack pickup and return times are arranged at a mutually agreeable time for all parties.
No rack rentals are scheduled during the week of and proceeding FIQ’s Quilt show.
