Check the CALENDAR tab above for meeting details.
Art Quilters meet at the Salvation Army Building, corner of “R” Avenue and 35th Street, on the fourth Monday of every month from 12:30 to 2:30 PM.
One of the benefits of FIQ membership is the opportunity to attend special interest groups within FIQ. One such group is the Art Quilters who meet to share resources, techniques, and skills that can be used to enhance any quilt, including so called art or studio quilts. To reinforce skills learned each month, Art Quilters are challenged to make small (usually no larger than 12”x12”) quilts to share the following month. This year members are encouraged to keep a Journal Quilt to possibly exhibit into the FIQ Quilt Show in April.
Since color exploration is the topic of the September meeting, the September challenge is to make a black and white quilt with two complementary colors. The theme or subject is up to the quilter.
