Whether you are looking for inspiration for a new project or a practical “how to” reference book, the FIQ Library is sure to provide the help you need! Our extensive library offers over 300 titles covering everything from basic to advanced quilting techniques, dying your own fabric, creating and embellishing beautiful wearables and gifts, to creating your own quilt designs. New books are constantly being added to the collection so be sure to check the FIQ Newsletter and the online Book List to find out “what’s new” – suggestions for new titles are welcomed and should be given to the FIQ Librarian!
A reminder when returning books, please don’t forget to retrieve the card from the file box and note the date (month and year) of your return. Put the card back into the book before returning it to the appropriate box. Your help in this is much appreciated.
The Library policies for checking out books are as follows:
- Two books at a time may be checked out for a one month period.
- Remove the card from the book pocket in the front of the book–sign your name and date of checkout on the card.
- File the card in the “Check-out Box” by the title of the book.
- When you return the book at the next meeting, check your book(s) back in by noting the return date on the Book Card, put the card back in the book pocket of the book, and re-shelve the book according to the title of the book.
- All books should be returned by the June meeting for the annual inventory.
- If you do not return a book, you will be asked to replace the book for the library.
Another wonderful source of books on quilting is the Anacortes Public Library. Over the years the FIQ group has donated money to the Anacortes library to help the library increase their collection of books on quilts and quilting. A valid Anacortes Library Card is required to check books out, but everyone is welcome to visit the library and use the collection.
